Composing this post on my MSX while listening to my Walkman
You're going backwards in time June 03, 2024 At least, that's what my wife remarked, when she saw me composing this post on my MSX while listening to my Walkman. Typing on my MSX I do a lot these days, but I found back my old Walkman along with my love for cassette tapes.
The WM-FX325 has independent treble and base dials, Dolby noise reduction, Volume Limiter System ( AVLS), a selector for normal or Chrome/Metal tapes and auto-reverse. I suppose that could provide a physical connection with the music just as well, but I do enjoy putting on a record and making it spin, or in this case, inserting the tape into the Walkman, closing it and pressing the big play button. My initial association with tapes was not with audio, but with software taking very long to ( fail to) load from cassettes on the family Sinclair ZX Spectrum and my original MSX, back when I was a kid.
