Today, Blackmagic Design announced a major update to DaVinci Resolve Studio, with extended support for editing spatial videos captured with its immersive camera. With a double-lens system that records stereoscopic 3D videos, the camera was launched alongside an updated version of DaVinci Resolve that “let editors pan, tilt and roll clips for viewing on 2D monitors or on Apple Vision Pro for an even more immersive editing experience”. The update also adds native support for Apple’s Spatial Audio Format (ASAF), allowing immersive sound mixing across Fairlight’s full 3D panner system.
