Deepfakes of Elon Musk are pushing crypto giveaway scams on YouTube Live


A YouTube Live broadcast that ran for five hours today used a deepfake of Elon Musk to push a cryptocurrency scam. It's only the latest in a series of these scams, which tell users to deposit their crypto in order to receive double in a giveaway.

NASA announced last night that it's pushing back the date of their return trip in order to allow for more reviews into problems that arose with Boeing’s Starliner craft during its flight, and to avoid conflicts with upcoming spacewalks. According to a letter by a startup called TollBit, as reported by Reuters, multiple AI companies are ignoring "do not crawl" instructions in the robots.txt protocol and scraping websites to get content used to train their technologies. Apple said on Friday that it would delay iOS 18’s marquee AI features in the European Union, conveniently blaming Digital Markets Act (DMA) regulations.
