Desktop Linux is an Untapped Gold Mine
The short comings of the current state of the Linux desktop experience. The potential that Linux have in becoming the true one OS to rule them all compared to Windows and Mac OS.
The first obstacle you run into as a newcomer, is the ridiculous number of different operating systems that exist under the Linux umbrella. Even basic tasks like loading kernels or installing something is told in such a gatekeeping manner that scares new users into adapting it. All a company needs to do is provide a homogenous/coherent user experience, smooth the rough edges, and not be as scummy as Google, Apple, or Microsoft and they will win.
