Digg co-founder offers to save Pocket as Mozilla winds it down


Just one day after Mozilla confirmed it’s shutting down Pocket, Digg co-founder has stepped up with a public offer to take it over.

Mozilla announced Thursday that Pocket will officially shut down on July 8, with its API and user data set to disappear completely by October 8. But the way people save and consume content on the web has evolved, so we’re channeling our resources into projects that better match browsing habits today. He began covering Apple news in Brazilian media in 2012 and later broadened his focus to the wider tech industry, hosting a daily podcast for seven years.
