Discord cuts 17% of employees to ‘sharpen its focus’


Discord announced that it's laying off around 170 workers as part of its efforts to improve its efficiency.

Discord today joined the list of companies laying off employees in 2024, which includes likes of Unity and Amazon. Citron writes in the memo (which The Verge published): “We grew quickly and expanded our workforce even faster, increasing by 5x since 2020.
