Discord to Start Showing Ads for Gamers to Boost Revenue
Despite past claims of being against them, Discord is set to introduce sponsored ads on its platform for the first time.
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal(WSJ) (subscription needed), the chat app will be adding them to attempt to increase its revenue. To assist with the ads, the company plans to add “more than a dozen people for ad-sales positions”, the report states. Insider Gaming has reached out to the company for comment on the report, and will update this story should a response be received.
