DK Rap composer explains why Nintendo didn't credit him in the Super Mario Bros. Movie

Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Kazooie composer Grant Kirkhope discusses why he wasn't credited for the DK Rap in the Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Composer Grant Kirkhope has shed light on why he wasn't credited by Nintendo in the Super Mario Bros. Movie for the inclusion of his DK Rap from Donkey Kong 64. Speaking to Eurogamer, Kirkhope explained how he spoke with Nintendo after the film's release but the company made the decision to not credit any music it owns - including the DK Rap. "I said I appreciate you've got your policies and all the rest of it, but by the time the credits roll in the movie to show the songs, the theatre's completely empty, everyone's gone, it's only me and my wife and my two kids sat there going 'look daddy's name!'.
