DOC finalizes semiconductor awards totaling nearly $7 billion for Samsung, Texas Instruments and Amkor

The awards will be given out based on the companies' completion of project milestones, the Department of Commerce said.

The US Department of Commerce on Friday announced its awards for Samsung, Texas Instruments and Amkor Technology under the CHIPS Incentives Program, which come to more than $6.75 billion altogether. Amkor is planning a $2 billion investment to create an advanced packaging and test facility in Peoria, Arizona. It's been three years since the last James Bond film and may take even longer to get the next one thanks to a feud between Amazon and the franchise's longtime producer Barbara Broccoli.
