Apologies for the lack of syntax highlighting, but wordpress borked the last way that was working for elixir and I didn’t want to yak shave this too far. In many cases, the compiler is smart enough to realize it’s a constant value (even with some operations applied) and so you won’t suffer a performance penalty for this.
