Elon Musk Says He’s Moving X and SpaceX Headquarters to Texas


The tech mogul cited California’s new transgender rights law as “the final straw” for moving out of the state.

“I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children,” Musk wrote in his series of posts on Tuesday. Last year a biography of Musk by Walter Isaacson revealed that the billionaire blamed the school of his oldest child for exposing her to certain ideals that led to her transitioning to female and excluding him from her life. And though Tesla moved its business base to Texas, Musk has kept significant manufacturing operations in Fremont and last year announced an engineering headquarters for the electric-car maker in Palo Alto.
