Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney blasts Apple’s new App Store concessions

Epic Games CEO, Tim Sweeney, has blasted Apple's new EU App Store concessions as the gaming developer's long-running battle with the tech giant rumbles on.

In a rant on X, Sweeney said: “They are forcing developers to choose between App Store exclusivity and the store terms, which will be illegal under DMA, or accept a new also-illegal anticompetitive scheme rife with new Junk Fees on downloads and new Apple taxes on payments they don’t process. Epic, the creators of the gaming phenomenon Fortnite, has been in a legal battle over the App Store’s fees and policies since 2020. Now, he co-hosts the popular We Are West Ham Podcast, writes a weekly column for BBC Sport and covers the latest news in the industry for ReadWrite.com.
