Exeter's unassuming co-op worker leads double life as 'Lord of the Logos'

Christophe has designed logos for the likes of Rihanna

Behind the nondescript uniform and happy and warm welcoming smile lies a hidden talent that has seen the 54-year-old award-winning artist produce outstanding work for the likes of pop star Rihanna alongside renowned names in the world of the heavy metal scene, as well as fashion and films. Since then he has continued to make a significant contribution to the extreme metal scene having drawn logos for hundreds of bands including Melechesh, Falkenbach, Aborted, Abigail Williams and Bloodshot Dawn. Belgium-born Christophe Szpajdel's logo was projected onto a 100ft backdrop at the MTV VMA awardsNothing can be more grounding than the fact he designed it at Sidmouth Library in between shifts at the Co-op in the town.
