California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass did not do their jobs. Aside from the preparedness necessary, once disaster does strike, it is necessary that someone to stand it the gap and be responsible, admit mistakes, and enact immediate change. Bass has been bizarrely repeating the same “I visited the Hurst Fire Command Post” speech every time there’s a press conference.
