Fedora 43 Eyes Changing CMake's Default Generator From Make To Ninja

With Fedora 42 having released earlier this week, more feature development work and planning around Fedora 43 is heating up

As most Linux developers and those rolling from source know, using Ninja can yield much better performance. Some Fedora packages are already explicitly using the Ninja back-end but this new change proposal would be about setting the default as specified via the%cmake macro. The net result is this change proposal would lead to faster build times and a better out-of-the-box support for areas where CMake+Ninja features are better supported such as around C++ modules.
