Fedora Copr Repository Offers XLibre Packages For Alternative X Server

While a proposal to replace the upstream X.Org Server with the XLibre fork was ultimately withdrawn prior to voting by the Fedora Engineering and Steering Committee (FESCo), a Fedora Copr repository has now surfaced for those wanting to try out this alternative X Server implementation on Fedora Linux.

Those wanting this unofficial approach to trying XLibre on recent Fedora builds can do so via: su - dnf copr enable kkofler/xlibre-xserver dnf upgrade There is a warning that these XLibre packages for Fedora are "COMPLETELY UNTESTED" but those wanting to learn more can do so via this Fedora mailing list post. If there is sufficient interest in my Copr, I might have another try at making this happen for some future Fedora release, but right now there is stiff opposition."
