Speaking to PC Gamer, Final Fantasy 16 director Hiroshi Takai was asked about goofy mods he'd like to see in the game, but Yoshida stepped in to answer instead. They're banned from MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, for instance, and Yoshida stated he was "extremely disappointed" when in 2023 a Japanese raid team successfully beat a challenge while secretly using mods.
