Flashes, an Instagram alternative based on Bluesky, is available for iPhones now

Flashes, a photo and video sharing app built on Bluesky, is available to download from the App Store now.

Building a more customizable, portable version of social media that doesn't lock you to one platform is a big part of Bluesky's goal with the AT Protocol and what apps like Mastodon and Threads are trying to do with ActivityPub. A charity games bundle that's supporting wildfire relief efforts in Southern California includes hundreds of titles, such as Tunic, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Hidden Folks and SkateBird. In the latest edition of Engadget's weekly deals roundup, we found discounts on gear from Apple, Anker, Samsung and Rad Power ebikes.
