Hwang Ho-chan submitted this physical complaint to South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission as part of his solo campaign to pressure Apple into explaining why Find My remained disabled despite no legal justification. Hwang Ho-chan, who lives outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area, traveled hours by bus to stage solo protests outside Apple Stores in Garosugil, Gangnam and Myeongdong, holding signs with QR codes linking to his research — often ignored by passersby. With AirTags — Apple’s coin-sized trackers that use nearby devices to relay their location — finally working in Korea, users were able to find lost backpacks, wallets and AirPods for the first time, along with some long-overdue peace of mind.
