Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt says we should go all in on building AI data centers because 'we are never going to meet our climate goals anyway'


Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt said that AI is advancing so fast, and requires so much energy, that there is no way to keep up with climate goals.

AI models require enormous data centers that threaten goals to reduce carbon emissions. Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt says it's time for us to fully invest in AI infrastructure because climate goals are too lofty to reach anyway. Schmidt's comments came at an AI summit in Washington DC on Tuesday, where he addressed the crowd and gave his thoughts on the future of artificial intelligence.
