FTC warns three PC tech companies of potential warranty violations


The Federal Trade Commission would like to remind you that yes, you can repair your own PC.

Specifically in the PC space, the FTC sent letters to companies ASRock, Gigabyte, and Zotac, warning them that they may be in violation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the federal act that oversees consumer warranties and is administered by the FTC. He has authored over 3,500 articles for PCWorld alone, covering PC microprocessors, peripherals, and Microsoft Windows, among other topics. He recently handed over a collection of several dozen Thunderbolt docks and USB-C hubs because his office simply has no more room.
