Geely releases new LFP battery with fast charging and energy density of 192Wh/kg

Geely's Aegis Short Blade Battery will first be used in the Galaxy E5 all-electric SUV.

The battery has an energy density of 192 Wh/kg and a cycle life of up to 3,500, which is equivalent to driving 1 million kilometers with minimal impact on range, Geely Auto said. Geely Auto applies its in-house developed self-fusing technology to the electrode surface to stop short circuits in the event of an accident. A test showed that the Aegis Short Blade Battery was simultaneously pierced by eight 5-millimeter-diameter steel needles at the same time and left to stand for an hour with no ill effects.
