The Gentoo Linux project ended the month of June by releasing new install media. The updated Gentoo install media with the LiveGUI USB image is employing the KDE Plasma 6.3.5 desktop, the Linux 6.12 LTS kernel, the GCC 14.3 compiler by default, Portage 3.0.68, and a wealth of other recent open-source software releases. Booting to the Gentoo LiveGUI USB image is a pretty generic KDE Plasma experience and unlike the Gentoo media nearly two decades ago with a bit more branding and customizations along with their GUI installer.
