A team of German and British engineers has developed a method for extracting battery-grade lithium from geothermal water in Germany.

Lithium plays a decisive role in the expansion of electromobility and renewable energies,” explained Dr Thomas Kölbel, an expert in research and development at the EnBW Group. “The combination of EnBW’s experience in DLE and geothermal power generation and LevertonHELM’s lithium processing expertise is a strong asset to accelerate progress in this field,” he added.
