GNOME Fixes Years-Old Bug Of Trash Not Always Being Properly Emptied


This Week in GNOME is out with its latest issue that outlines some UI progress made as well as addressing an aging GNOME bug that could result in not all files/directories being properly removed when emptying the Trash from the GNOME desktop.

GNOME's GLib library meanwhile has taken on an issue of making sure your Trash is really empty due to a bug discovered around leftover files within~/.local/share/Trash/expunged/. This addresses a years old bug report over permission issues leading to some files not being deleted when emptying the Trash. About The AuthorMichael Larabel is the principal author of Phoronix.com and founded the site in 2004 with a focus on enriching the Linux hardware experience.
