Goodbye Windows 7

As of the day I publish this, October 8th, 2024, Microsoft has finally ended support for the last version of Windows 7. If you’re confused let me explain.

However, if you were a business who needed more time to migrate off of it because your CEO didn’t listen to the begging and pleading IT department until a week before the deadline, Microsoft did have an option for you. Windows Embedded POSReady 7, released on September 10th, 2011, had its last day of extended support today. I’ve been running Windows 7 on one of my laptops for the past 2 years and keeping up with the security updates for the fun of it.
