Google conducts sweeping layoffs in its Cloud unit

Google's Cloud unit conducted more job cuts this week, affecting employees in consulting, partner engineering, and sustainability.

The total number of affected staff could not be learned, although the cuts appear to have hit Google Cloud's "Go To Market" teams the hardest. The document noted that some recent hires were laid off, including at least one new recruit who had yet to complete their onboarding process. "As we've shared before, we continue to evolve our business to meet our customers' priorities and the significant opportunity ahead," a Google spokesperson told BI in a statement.
