Google leaked its own design process for Material 3 Expressive


Google plans to reveal Material 3 Expressive at Google I/O 2025, but it accidentally leaked a blog post about it ahead of time.

A blog post published early, captured by the Wayback Machine, gives us a sneak peek at the future of Android design, and why it's getting more "expressive" (via 9to5Google). You may like Google's blog post reveals that its studies found that Material 3 Expressive design resulted in a higher perception of "brand coolness." The early Material 3 Expressive blog post shows many examples of how the design language can be used, but it isn't necessarily indicative of the exact changes we'll see in future Android updates.
