Google Messages just made ditching spam texts a breeze

Android is throwing spam texts a much-needed curveball.

Google Messages is rolling out a built-in “Unsubscribe” button to give you an easy way to shut down those automated texts for good. It's a little prompt at the end of spammy texts that says, “unsubscribe to stop receiving messages.” Once you tap it, you’ll get a quick pop-up asking why you’re opting out. Furthermore, a “Start” button will pop up in the bottom-right corner, giving you the option to resubscribe to those automated texts if you change your mind later.
