Google plans to give Watch Unlock a boost with ultra-wideband tech
Code strings hinting at the functionality were spotted in the Play Services app.
UWB would be a more precise and faster way to gauge the distance between the Pixel Watch and a paired Android phone. Since the Watch Unlock feature is only available for use on Pixel devices, it's reasonable to assume that Google will release a smartwatch with UWB.
