Google upgrades Search to combat deepfakes and demote sites posting them


The company is also expanding privacy protections for users. Here's how.

At a briefing and demo attended by ZDNET, Google didn't specify how it's able to verify the AI origins of an image, but did note that the technology is still in its rudimentary stages.
