Google's New AI Doesn't Think Motorcyclists Need to Wear Safety Gear


Google recently launched its new AI search engine tool, Gemini, so RideApart asked it a bunch of basic motorcycling questions. It wasn't just wrong, it offered dangerous suggestions.

What we have right now is actually something called a Large Language Model (LLM) which is slightly better than your phone's predictive text function. Last night, InsideEVs' Patrick George dropped into Slack with a screenshot of a query he sent Gemini, Google's new AI tool that works with the company's all-knowing search. As AI tools have been foisted onto the public, a lot of folks have attempted to trip up these LLMs to see if they'd spit out false information, which more times than not, they do.
