Google's Sameer Samat says ChromeOS and Android could be one soon


An interview with Google's Sameer Samat discussed the bright future for Android and its intentions moving forward.

Google recently launched the Android Canary Release Channel for developers, giving them the tools required to build the future of foldables and wearables. While Google has fast-tracked Android 16, moving into the "Trunk Stable" process for quicker development cycles, Samat says the software's goal remains letting users "fit the ethos of what’s on your home screen with the rest of your phone." Android 16 is a noteworthy upgrade; however, Samat states the goal was to create an OS that felt “modern and delightful” without disrupting your muscle memory.
