Google’s theft protection features have started showing up for some Android users


Google announced three new security tools — Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock and Remote Lock — back in May, and they've reportedly begun to roll out.

Android reporter Mishaal Rahman shared on social media that the first two tools had popped up on a Xiaomi 14T Pro, and said some Pixel users have started seeing Remote Lock. Meta faces a huge possible fine in the European Union's latest ruling about its use of personal user data to create targeted advertising. A new feature called Canvas lets ChatGPT users focus on specific lines for collaboration with the AI interface.
