For nearly two weeks now, the online game platform BYOND has been under severe DDoS attacks to the point that it and its supported titles aren’t accessible. According to a now-deleted post on Reddit, the malicious actors here are trying to pressure the site’s owners into going open source.

In response, a dev wrote, “The most positive outcome is if the community rallies support on Patreon and SubscribeStar while the site is down and new memberships can’t be purchased. BYOND is best-known for hosting Space Station 13, a popular multiplayer sim in the vein of RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress.
