Hackers Weaponize Old Avast Driver to Install Windows Malware
Researchers find a type of malware that uses kernel-level permissions to take over a PC.
This "Kill Floor" malware drops a copy of the kernel-level Avast driver, which allows it to continue its attack by disabling critical security systems on Windows PCs.
