We believe a person pulling out their phone and saying, “This is what I cooked last weekend,” makes it a better customer experience where in some of those other venues, you can throw a rock and not hit a salesperson, just by the nature of the way that they’ve designed their go-to market. He was a mentor of mine from when I started my nonprofit in Latin America right out of college, and then we developed a relationship over the years, and he finally said, “Hey, I need some help thinking through digital for our couple thousand McDonald’s in 20 countries.” His advice was: Occupy the space.
