How ChatGPT’s Canvas Can Help You Use AI More Productively

Canvas, which is available to OpenAI's paid subscribers, is a little bit like an AI-powered Google Docs. Here's how to use it.

With multiple AI platforms and bots competing against each other—there's Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, to name just a few—we're seeing new updates and upgrades appear on a frequent basis. Down in the lower right corner, meanwhile, you'll find a pop-up toolbox that gives you a variety of options, depending on whether you're writing text or programming code with ChatGPT. Each paragraph comes with its own comment icon (a small speech bubble), and you can click on these to focus the AI bot on one block of text in particular.
