Phia raises $8M seed round in deal led by Kleiner Perkins.

Meet Phia, the shopping app founded by Bill Gates’ daughter Phoebe and her Stanford roommate-slash co-founder, Sophia Kianni. The goal is to make the e-commerce shopping experience seamless — a place where customers can see everything they’ve previously bought or searched for, and to find new items that would be of interest. She and Gates, for example, are open about the experiments they run with Phia; they ask people to direct message them feedback, and have used social media to hire talent and source designers.
