What can I do before, during, and after making decisions to be better at making them?

I actually think fast performance is much more important because users will rarely interact with this feature directly but instead use the API most of the time, which is why I was in favor of option 1. Since then, I have applied these learnings to all my future decisions: I have never overlooked community size as an evaluation criterion for a foundational technology choice again. Finally, this is the decision log template that I personally use, which takes all the above learnings into account to guide me down the pit of success without me having to think about it:
