How to Launch a Custom Chatbot on OpenAI’s GPT Store


You can now publish a bespoke version of ChatGPT that you’ve trained yourself. The marketplace for these custom GPTs is open to the public and works in a way that's similar to Apple’s App Store.

While OpenAI’s GPT Store shares some similarities to smartphone app marketplaces, it currently functions more like a giant directory of tweaked ChatGPTs. One crucial differentiator for OpenAI from companies, like Replika, that encourage intimate human-AI relationships is a ban on creating GPTs for “romantic companionship.” All that’s known right now is that payments to US-based creators are likely to start in the next couple of months, and the payouts will be based on unspecified engagement metrics.
