How to use Instagram Map and protect your privacy
Following concerns about safety, Instagram head Adam Mosseri reassured users that the feature is opt-in, and noted that some people are “confused” about how the feature works.

Similarly, if a creator you follow posts a reel about a new restaurant in your city, you’ll be able to discover it on Instagram Map.
