I tested Google's $1,800 Pixel 9 Pro Fold for a week, and I'm ready to ditch Samsung

The successor to last year's Pixel Fold has brighter displays, a lighter form factor, and AI features meant for the big screen, but you'll still have to pay to play.

After a rocky start with last year's Pixel Fold, Google has gone back to the drawing board, etched out a new foldable that is more polished, user-friendly, and feature-packed, and is hoping that you'll buy into its $1,799 master plan again. That's because the wider, 21:9 aspect ratio of most films means the letterboxing (black bars that fill any dead space) on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's squarish display is very prominent.
