I used Synology's 8TB BeeStation Plus — this is the perfect starter Plex media server

With an integrated 8TB drive and media streaming, the BeeStation Plus is a terrific upgrade.

Thankfully, Synology is addressing that with the introduction of the BeeStation Plus; it shares the same design and feature-set as the standard model, but comes with an 8TB hard drive, and you get the ability to install Plex, turning it into a centralized media server. While it is showing its age, there aren't any issues in day-to-day use, and the BeeStation Plus does a good job when it comes to backing up data as well as streaming media to connected devices on your home network.
