iFixit launches new soldering toolkit, plans to make soldering commonplace

The beginner-friendly FixHub Smart Soldering Iron and Portable Power Station is USB-C-powered and reaches soldering temperature in under five seconds.

The FixHub Smart Soldering Iron and Portable Power Station seeks to solve those pain points. By default, the soldering iron heats up to 660 degrees Fahrenheit right out of the box; it has an on/off switch and handy lights to let you know if the tip is safe to touch. Not only did the power station last through the entire hours-long session (iFixit promises you’ll get eight hours of soldering use out of it), but my hand never cramped or got tired.
