Math is hard enough, why make it harder on students?

One of my projects I worked on recently was migrating a massive set of math courses from one platform to another. Where gpt-4o confused a minus symbol with an equal sign, this happens a lot where the character “y” is found, it seems to bias towards y=mx+b Given this result, we used gemini-1.5-flash to rebuild our math equations into LaTeX, AND MathJax to make it much more legible for students.
