Instagram is adding expiring and semiprivate comments

Notes will expire after three days

Instagram Notes — a temporary away status-like feature — is expanding, the company announced today. Like Notes, these comments are temporary — they’ll disappear after three days, unless you delete them earlier. When users encounter Reels and posts with Notes from friends, those comments will appear almost like a sticker on top of content — the feature is clearly meant to tap into the more private ways people use Instagram, like DMing with friends.
