A UPS should be considered an essential device in this digital age, especially for those who live in places that suffer from regular power surges, brownouts, and more. I know that's trivial, but when you take great pains to keep your office (TV room or whatever) nice and tidy, the last thing you might want is something that looks like a relic from the early 2000s.
