A trade group for major internet providers aims to stop a Colorado law it alleges will “force” several leading social media websites to stop minor users from accessing protected speech. NetChoice, which advocates for free expression and commerce online, filed suit Thursday, asking the court to declare that the law violates the First Amendment and should be scrapped for “vagueness.” The same day the suit was filed the US Supreme Court turned down social media platforms seeking to prevent Mississippi from enforcing a law that will impose parental consent requirements and age verification.
