iOS 26 to let iPhone users check the weather even when there’s no service
Beta code reveals upcoming iOS 26 feature for satellite-based weather updates.
With iPhone 14, Apple introduced satellite capabilities that let users call emergency services when there is no Wi-Fi or cellular connection available. Over time, the technology also enabled users to send and receive iMessages and even share their location via satellite. Although this feature wasn’t part of the WWDC 2025 opening keynote, Macworld found evidence of its existence in the iOS 26 beta code, which is now available to developers.
